Celebrating 40 Years of Dedication: Thank You, Adele!

This week marks the end of an incredible era as we bid a heartfelt farewell to the amazing Adele, who has retired after an extraordinary 40 years of service with TG Builders Merchants.

Adele’s journey with us began in 1985, when she joined as an Admin Assistant. Over the decades, her talent, dedication, and leadership shone through — rising through the ranks to become Assistant Manager, and later making history as TG’s first female Branch Manager at our Tattenhall branch. It was a groundbreaking achievement, especially in what was then a very male-dominated industry.

Even after stepping down from her management role in 2021, Adele continued to support the team part-time, always bringing her knowledge, warmth, and professionalism to every task. During her career, she witnessed enormous changes — from the computerisation of systems to the full redevelopment of the Tattenhall branch — and played a vital role through it all.

Adele leaves behind more than just a long service record — she leaves a legacy of resilience, kindness, and quiet determination that has inspired colleagues across the TG Group.

As she enters this next chapter, Adele is looking forward to spending more time volunteering locally, travelling, and enjoying life with her beloved dog, Rosie.
